There was a day when content was king. Now, there are choices. The search engines that are currently upgrading their sites – almost on a daily basis – are now starting to move more seriously into searches for multimedia applications. For instance, Yahoo! is now offering audio and video searches that can be used in relation to content. With this, you will be able to get even more out of streaming media on the Internet, while moving beyond basic content searches.
The main component that Yahoo! is currently adding on is the ability for individuals to specifically look for audio and video according to keyword. Instead of going to podcasts and finding options that are mixed in with content, you can separate out what you want with multimedia. These specific searches are designed to give you a focused option when you are looking for video and other mainstream multimedia, without having the other problems with content.
Of course, Google and Yahoo! continue to reside hand in hand when it comes to this competition. Google is also upgrading options for searches with images, audio and video, all which are expected to take everything out but the keywords.
Just another – simpler way to search.
