I know – we all know – more followers are better.  As a business, this is a way to build your branding and your image.  If you are just an individual, well, it is good to know the globe and to follow each other in this new world.  So, if you want to really get up there, then finding out how to get more Twitter followers is the first key to a successful Tweeting experience.

1. The ever popular keywords.  Where would the Internet be without them?  When you post things, make sure it is relevant to your topic and interests.  People can find you with the Tweets that you are putting online.

2. Retweeting.  When I was first introduced to this, I was told it didn’t do anything.  But it does.  If you take the most popular topics and retweet them to someone else, then your face and name gets into the mix of the most popular items.  People will start following you from this concept.

3. Consistency.  It isn’t so much how many followers you get at once, but it is more like – how many followers you get over time.  Make sure you update your Tweets on a consistent basis or get an automatic machine to do it.  The more you Tweet, the easier you are to find.

4. Follow those who follow you.  This is the golden rule of Twitter.  If you don’t follow someone back, they are likely to delete you.  If you follow another, then others can find you in the list to make sure that you are able to get the best responses.

5. Don’t be afraid to reach out and Tweet someone.  Yah, you know what that one means.

Over a little time and with a little work, you can easily have people following you and getting to know you.  So, Tweet away.
